As the number of newspapers in the United States diminishes, journalists have turned to social media as a way to push out their stories. Most newsrooms have a social media editor who is responsible for using Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram so they can reach as many people as possible.
The Assignment
In this scenario, you are the social media editor in your newsroom. You have been assigned to write a post highlighting one of the key struggles women have faced in the fight for gender equality based on one of the photographs in the carousel.
Directions
Research the topic by looking back over the case study and reading reliable sources you have used in class.
Write a brief summary of the issue in your post, addressing the following questions: What was the challenge faced by the individual or group featured in the image and how did they overcome it?
Click on “Select Image,” create your entry, and “post” comments in response.
Practice smart digital citizenship by keeping the entry and comments engaging and respectful.
